Is the United States more of a Greek centric or Roman Centric Country?

  1. Roman Centric.  That's why I hate all the nonsense about spreading democracy.  When I pledge allegiance, I pledge it to the flag and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands.

    However, we've moulded a myth of individualism in this country (which oddly helps keeps us a placid and unindividualistic herd of sheep for the Wolves in government) that owes a great deal to Athenian ideals.

    Add into that mix what we owe to the cultures and political structures of those Germanic tribes the Angles and Saxons.  That debt is not inconsiderable, and definitely helped shape the mix of democracy and republicanism that founders were trying to hammer out.


  2. Roman, check out the architecture of Washington D.C.

    No real interest in democracy, just looking democratic,

    Military important, foriegn intervention necessary to distract from domestic politics
