  1. UQ is a fantastic uni to study at and it has the most beautiful campus.

It's particularly strong in the sciences, but law and medicine (that's a post graduate degree only) are also highly respected. It has excellent facilities and services - a great computer network, a number of world class libraries, a good student union and incredible sporting facilities. It's also well serviced by ferry and bus transport.

My kids studied there and found it to be a wonderful experience with excellent teaching. They still play sport there and each has a number of overseas students (mainly American) on their team. Many of the overseas students did their undergraduate degrees at UQ and have returned for a variety of post-graduate degrees and doctorates.

  2. It's a great school to study at.

In 2006, Newsweek named them the 91st best college in the world, and The Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Academic Ranking of World Universities ranked it in the top 150 in 2007.  They're part of the Group of Eight, which is made up of the eight oldest and most prestigious universities in Australia.

You'd be well off going here for most any field.  Still, the college does have some specific strengths.  Two of these are research and  excellence in teaching.  The university's professors have won many awards for teaching, and The Queensland Bioscience Precinct on the St Lucia campus is a major science hub.
