Is the Volkswagen Passat 1.8T a good car?

I have found a 2003 Volkswagen Passat 1.8T with 22,000 miles. The person who is selling it has a price if $15,000. Is this a good price? Are they a reliable car? Please give me your feed back if you have owned one.

Price is a bit high, worth more like $9,800.  Fair fuel economy, no major problems but be sure to have your mechanic evaluate it if you can get the price right.
