Is the WWE real or even worth being called a sport?

I heard that it is fake and that the most popular wrestler always wins, is this true?

and if it is how can anyone get excited by that?

It is scripted, but fake is not the right word to use.  The most popular wrestler does not always win, because often the bad guys win.  They use storylines that many people find exciting to watch and the matches take skill to put on. (No it may not be real competition, but takes talent to be able to put on the predetermined matches as if they were real.)  You might not understand how it is exciting to watch, and I respect your opinion, but you do not know what will happen.  It is kind of like a soap opera that uses a "sport" as it's main focus.  So to answer your question, WWE is scripted and should be referred to as sports entertainment.

it is fake. it's all planned and rehearsed way before it actually happens. it's for entertainment, not a sport. but the superstars are actually very good athletes and spend years training and practicing. many of them wrestled in high school. but wwe is still pretty fake. it's a good soap opera though :] and the superstars are role models to many kids.

wrestling is scripted just like james bond rocky and 24 the favorite wrestler does not always win until the end and the fueds can go on for months or even years if injurys are involed. It involves imagination to get into but it is pretty real they accually through each other through tables and off ladders. They really get hurt but they know who will win before it happens. It is entertaining because of the wrestlers them selves you grow to love or hate them. And acually hurricanedan is right we as fans dont know what will happen on a given night but the writting staff does just like any movie or reality tv show they already know what will go on but we as viewers are not told

Its a staged play, the wrestlers are actors/stunt men. While entertaining it is not a sport. The "wrestlers" are very athletic though and can do impressive things at time but it can't be a sport if the better man can't win by skill.
