  1. It's a good buy, as long as you stick to the program, and commit to it. If you're just gonna quit after a week, don't bother.

  2. It is a good buy. Yes you will lose weight or gain muscle. This is assuming you follow the directions and play the game frequently. If you take the game seriously, you will get serious results. Not to mention you get the Wii Balance board which will be used in highly anticipated games like SKATE and Shaun White's Snowboarding. Imagine skateboarding in your living room. Enough said. Buy Wii Fit!

  3. Yes it is. I bought the Wii Fit a little over 3 months ago, and I have lost over 20 pounds. I dont use it as often as I should, but it's a constant reminder for me to watch what I eat and remember to exercise. GO GET IT!

  4. no because its a stupid game. Its not a good game and its not a good excersize machine.

  5. Absolutely.

The above is right:  it isn't a great game.  It is, however, more fun than light exercise has been in your living room before.  It's also not as good as a bowflex for building muscle or an elliptical for burning calories, but it's $90 and makes a difference.  That's a steal.  A true exercise machine of any worth would cost $200-$2,000, motivation not included!

I used mine for a week before a major injury and I've used it for about a month since I've been allowed to work out again.  I've gained back four pounds in muscle, and the Wii had all the exercises my doc ordered, which saved me the cost of a physical trainer or countless weeks of still hobbling around with low flexibility and muscle mass.  That's huge.  The health pros also said the muscle mass I built in that first week mitigated my injury and shortened the recovery time.  I'm not sure how many weeks of my life it gave me outside a hospital bed, but I can assure you they were worth more than $90 to me.

The tracker can be highly motivating for some people.  I know it encouraged me to skate, cycle, and walk more often than I had been.  Even if it only motivates you to do light exercise in home, it's worth its cost.

There's two reasons I can think of why it wouldn't be worth the cost to you:

Most people find it motivating, but many people have tucked it into the corner to gather dust with their billy bootcamp DVDs and their stairmaster.  Obviously, if it fails to motivate you it isn't a good buy for you.

Also, if you're already in shape, the light exercise available on the wii probably won't do much for you.

My mother and roommates have been using the Wii Fit in my home, so it's been valuable to more than one person.  A few roommates and my boyfriend, however, refuse to touch it--they're too busy playing sports and hitting the gym 15 hours/week, so I can't blame them!
