  1. THE MINKOTA RT-55S WOULD WORK GREAT FOR YOU...I HAVE AN LN-19 THAT I USE A 55 FRESH WATER VERSION FOR , WORKS GREAT ON LAKES AND CURRENTS .  ALSO, WEST MARINE HAS A GREAT INFO PAGE FOR TROLLING MOTORS AND HOW TO SIZE THEM FOR YOUR BOAT (INTHE MOTOR LISTINGS)


  2. Sailboats usually glide through the water better than runabouts.  However, small fishing boats may glide easier than sailboats.

  3. a small 2 or 3 h.p. air cooled outboard will do the job and does not require a heavy deep cycle battery.

  4. Yes, you will need what they call a long shaft model. go to Basspro.com and look through there.

  5. Any long shaft motor will work just fine. Gas or electric.
