Is the ability to whistle hereditary?

I can't seem to learn for the life of me. I've tried all my life. My Dad and sister can kind of whistle and my Mom cannot. Has anyone learned at a later age? (I'm 30).

the professionals will probably claim there's a gene for it which obviously you didn't get.

Seriously, I didn't learn to whistle until I was an adult and I must say, I was then extremely proud of myself.

i didn't learn how to whistle until i was 23 for some reason i just could not get it.....i don't think its genetic though
