  1. Legal  Roe V. Wade

The law can be modified by states as long as the modifications stand up to challange in the Supreme Court..

  2. Legal under the terms that you don't want to have the baby and can pay the doctors

  3. It is legal....but "late-term" abortions (the definition of which can vary from state to state and can range from 12 weeks on up) are often more controversial and can in some cases endanger the life of the mother.

  4. Generally abolition is still safe guarded by Supreme Court ruling thus legal. Late term abortion, which is defined as discretionary termination of third trimester child has been made illegal and up held by Supreme Court, but there is still legal manuring by both sides over term medically necessary.

  5. You've gotten a lot of bad answers!

    1) It is legal in the US

    2) The exact terms vary from state to state.

    3) The fetus must be younger than 3 months, unless the mother's health is in danger.  In that case an abortion *may* be performed on an older fetus.

  6. It is legal, but I believe some states have a time limit on how far along the pregnancy can be.

I am pro choice, but I think it should be limited to the first trimester.

The bozo above is wrong about WI, I LIVE here.

  7. Legal since the US Supreme Court, in correctly interpreting the United States Constitution, struck down state laws that previously had criminalized abortions, in the landmark case of Roe v Wade (1973).

Note to Sheki Shebazz: You are not telling the truth. The vast majority of Americans believe that there is an absolute right for a woman to decide without governmental interference, whether or not she should have an abortion, and that there is no basis whatsoever to overturn Roe v Wade.

Note to Twisted: It is LEGAL in every state. Roe v Wade is the LAW OF THE LAND as decided by the US Supreme Court.

  8. Most if not all states have legalized abortion. But I think the dr. performing the abortion has to have a license. If an abortion is not performed right the mother not to be can suffer painful and sometimes fatal consequences. This has cost many a dr. their right to practice medicine.

  9. its legal right now but most people want it to be illegal because they're basically killing a living human being.

  10. It is legal, although there is a bill in place now to make it (AND hormonal birth control methods like the pill) illegal!!

Anyone who thinks that is ridiculous, go to www.plannedparenthood.org to learn more and sign a peition.

  11. Its legal

  12. Legal.

  13. Yes, it's legal in the United States-- the only place it's illegal really is in the Middle East and half of the African Nations.

  14. it is legal...as it should be

  15. Abortion is legal in every U.S. state. The famous U.S. Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade overturned the ban on abortions, making it federally legal.

I am uncertain on the legality of partial birth abortions (abortions at 6 months gestation and beyond.) I think it may vary from state to state. Also, I think there may have been a recent Supreme Court case that may have banned the practice naturally. I am unsure on that.

However, I am 100% certain that at the very least abortions less than 6 months gestation is legal.

Kooky is correct in the fact that girls under the age of 18 can get abortions incredibly easily in the U.S. In the U.S., there is a federal law that maintains that a child under the age of 18 cannot get an abortion without consent of at least one parent. However, organizations like Planned Parenthood frequently ignore the law. There was an expose done in which college students posed as a 13-yea-old girl seeking an abortion after she became pregnant from her 22-year-old boyfriend. In 91% of the cases, the Planned Parenthood clinician agreed to schedule an abortion AND agree to conceal the age of the male (He should have been reported for statutory rape.)

So any 13 or 14-year-old girl and walk into Planned Parenthood and get an abortion with NO parental consent for just a few hundred dollars. It is illegal, but since Planned Parenthood does not turn over their records to the government and frequently lies about the age of the girl, it most often goes undetected.

  16. Legal.  But costly.  Anywhere from $500 to $5,000, as should be the case if anyone doesn't want the government involved. Those who don't want the gov't involved shouldn't complain that the US gov't won't pay for them.

  17. Legal.  And it is shameful how easy it is to get one these days.  Anyone below 18 can't get a flu shot without parental consent, but you can get an abortion without parental notification.  A parent should help the teen make a decision.  Just to let you know, there are people out  there who will gladly take in a child because they can't have one.  A child should have a choice to live.  It is not our right to decide to play "god" and take away a life because of circumstances.

I understand when people become pregnant against their will, they think they should get a choice.  That is not the case, the consequence was forced upon them the second that cell began to multiply.  I am truly sorry about what happened to them, but it is a precious life that began the second someone else took advantage of them.  Here's an idea, let's get rid of pornography and we'll see how rape rates plummet down.  Life begins the second an egg is fertalized period.

  18. It's legal.  I believe that if you're under a certain age, a parent must consent, but I don't know for sure.  You may have to find out from a clinic.

  19. it is legal.

there is not much to explain. there are no terms and conditions.

  20. It goes from state to state.
