  1. world religion? what is that? an invented religion is nothing but an idea, a philosophy.

    What is religious conquest?

  2. The problem with religious folks is they think religion is something which you practice once a week.  Religion is something you endeavor to achieve every day of your life.

The Book of James in the King James Bible, chapter 1 v 27, says, "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world".  God's description of religion says nothing about assembling weekly, does it?  No, religion is a lifestyle.  There is nothing wrong with the general assembly, but that isn't religion.

  3. Hey Third P... interesting question !

Is the age of religious conquest over ?

No... not yet. Not to say that it will not end as it is today. Change is inevitable and so it can be conveniently prophesised that it will end but when... well thats a bit complicated of course. For you and I who are asking this question today represent only the tip of the iceberg that is actually looming with people who would continue to make a conquest out of religion.

But it is interesting... because the very same who are making a conquest out of religion are allowing those like you and I to ask or even think of the need to redefine world religion. So that will also occur... someday... but is it not interesting to see that in this process how every single person knowingly or unknowingly is serving a purpose. How intricate are the ways of the universe.

And when its time to redefine things, it wont be as you define it and it wont be as I define it.

It will be as all of us define it... as one !!

  4. Its not religious conquest; its attack of the con men using religion like their predecessors used patent medicine.  Today's religion is yesterday's snake oil.

  5. No matter how one religion trys to make peace, there will all ways be another one trying to say its better and does not like peace. At the moment we have " a few muslims" attacking other religions and are trying to end a fight that's done (the crusades)

  6. As slogans like: We got to kill those Muslin extremist before they end civilization as we know it-- still are still being used; unfortunately  think Gregory is alive and the greatest hindrance to human development. Religion is reptilian creation. There is a need to Imagine a world without religion.

  7. There is no world religion. Several sects...off-shoots...books and tomes yes. Spirituality is surging, religion is diminishing. It needs no redefinition or quantification. We are advancing as a race for the most part....despite the attempts of religious folk with power trying to prevent the steps forward.

  8. Religious conquest is over and had been over. The forces, sects, or groups that claim to be under a religious banner actually have more of a political banner than the attempt to force conversion of one group to worship their idea of a supreme being.

As far as defining a world religion there is no way possible that would ever happen. There are Christians and a number of different denominations that call themselves Christian. The Jewish faith has orthodox, reformed and a couple of other version. Islam has the two large factions the Shiite and the Sunni, with smaller factions there as well. The Hindu worship a number of different dieties. There are Buddists, Shinto, and couple of other Asian religions. The other side of the coin are the pagans and Wiccans. Then there are athiests and agnostics...........So world religion, absolutely impossible.

  9. We have got the words, and now we use them as clichés. We use words to hate things, to love things and to find things they come to represent for us in the mind old, boring and even meaningless. This is one dilemma we face when we come to rely upon the use of words. The word religion is one of such worlds that I see has cease to signify brilliance since the turn of the century and even from time beyond. Especially in the modern western, or pro-western, contexts of thought, people have learnt to mean by religion, the old, the archaic, evil regimes, autocracy, misinterpretation of understanding and lack of the promise for the future, bloody wars, irrationality, ignorance, dogmatism, and even injustice and crime against human kind. Is religion obsolete and even harmful for the mind of the individuals and therefore for the society at large, is the question.

I personally regard religious to be the organised manifestation of one very aspect of human mind that address to our spiritual needs. One can further raise the question to ask if there is something in the mind as spiritual needs, but the answer I do not thing is just one, as there are people who find much sought after peace and fulfilment trough their religious faith. I think religion does provide answers to many questions that cannot be catered by any other means, scientific, philosophical or social, if one chooses to seek. We can see great promises in science and in the possibilities of life as it might turn out to be in the future, but the most important are the queries of the present that need their resolution now. We need to find fulfilment that our mind naturally, or spiritually craves, within the lifetime of a normal human being. What good are the medical cures for the one who are not going to live till the time of their discovery, for instance?

I therefore would not condemn religion as irrelevant or obsolete. I personally see that religion as in its essence being a thing of the mind might evolve to facilitate the needs of the mind that we might not be mindful of this far.

And now, the matter as you have put it, that of the religious conquest: I think we all know now what we need to know, or we can know what we need to know across the boundaries of race, religion and culture. I think now is the matter - most important in nature to the wellbeing of the mind and progress of human race - of raising individual thoughts, and making people not only aware of what they can chose but also enabling them to make those choices.

By this I mean to say that may be days of religion meaning the mindless mob mentality, or multitude of people dogmatically believing in one or the other thing are over. May be we all are mob now at a global scale, where we can be equally and similarly informed, educated and influenced. There are still great division in understanding and ability, if I speak realistically. But I think this might become possible in the future for people to take care of their individual beliefs and at the same time to be tolerant to other people beliefs, to act, to live and to progress together.

  10. Yes.

  11. Most people are searching for real answers, may it be through religion or God or nature, etc. It is the inherent nature of the soul to find real happiness and peace. Especially human beings. There is only one religion Religion is One, God is One. But man changes the holy books again and again so God (also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, Rama, etc.) again has to send another representative to reestablish the truth. When one understands the Universal teachings of Religion, then they no longer need a religious designation. They become transcendental to so called religious sects. God is One with Unlimited names. On the highest platform one can understand that all these religions originally came from the Same One true God, but man has apparently changed things. No one can actually change Religion that is already set from time immemorial. The people due to insincerity and ignorance follow unbonafide, so called, man made religion.

We need to reestablish the Universal Religious Principles  set fourth by the previous acharyas, such as 1. No unnecessary killing, which includes animal killing and meat eating, which supports animal killing.

    2. no illicit s*x  (which creates unwanted children and so many miseries. 3. No intoxication (which covers the real consciousness) 4. No Gambling (which is the source of the other 3 irreligious principles and a misuse of Gods wealth energy.

Gauranga!, Universal Greeting- May the greatest good and highest joy be yours!. Thanks for your invoking higher consciousness, friend!

  12. I would say it's over.  But, then again...the fat lady hasn't sung yet.

  13. In a fragmented society world religion is not possible.

  14. The re-establishing of a new world faith is turned into not a quest to unite nations and peoples, but a tool for power seekers to facilitate the gaining of control. That is the battle at this juncture of the Holy was. A battle for dominance. Let’s pray the Almighty Fathers will be done. Amen.
