Question:

Is the aisle runer in church necessary

I'm back with another about being married on crutches. I am afraid that the aisle runner could slip below my crutches which could be a disaster for me. Is it necessary? I do not want to use a wheelie, I want to walk up on crutches with an escort in place of my deceased dad, and back down with my husband.

  1. No not at all . What ever makes you more comfortable go with. I really don't know why we use runners anyway., and I have seen a lot of people trip on them.

  2. Absolutely not needed...my friend's priest recommended she NOT get one.

  3. No. Not only that but most churches don't allow them anymore.

  4. No way not at all just tell them your situation and they will be more than happy to work with you I didn't have that when I got married and I got married a year ago. Good Luck.

  5. Sweetheart it's your day to shine. If you don't want a runner don't. It sound like you'd fall anyway.

Congrats to you on you special day.

  6. I had an incident where my crutch griped on a throw rug but the rug slipped on the wood floor.  The same thing could happen to you on the runner in the aisle, and you would go down on your bad leg, which would be a disaster.  Don't use a runner to be safe (and save some $).

  7. You don't have to  use it. My mom coordinates weddings and it's not a necessity. Just tell who ever is helping with your wedding that you don't want it. No big deal. Hope this helps :]

  8. Runners are not necessary, and in fact in your case, they could be quite dangerous.  A plain aisle strewn with flower petals from the flower girl will look just fine.  If you want to dress it up more, maybe you could line the aisle with white Christmas lights on either side, so it still looks pretty without being hazardous.

  9. It is NOT necessary. Just let the people at the church know that you don't want one.

  10. The choice is all yours.  Why bother to worry about it.....just don't use one!

  11. It's not needed, call them and ask them to remove it.

  12. A runner is not a requirement.  I can totally understand your concern for slipping or getting tripped up!

Let them know you are on crutches and ask them to remove it.

    Good luck.
