Is the alpine cde-9874 "remote ready"?

Question

i just bought this cd player and was wondering if i can buy a remote for it like the RUE-4202?

it doesn't look like it is compatible, the 9870 wasn't either and the one you have is basically just a new model of it. I checked crutchfield and it doesn't show that it is. I can give you a defenite answer tomorrow though after i test it out at work.

No it's not.  You have to move up to the 9884 and buy the optional remote for another 20 bucks of so.  If you use your ipod for music and don't need to play CD's then the iDA-X300 is compatible with the remote for the same price as the 9874.
