Yes, but all that weird stuff was just a tale to sell books.There were murders , but the guy only claimed to be possessed as a kind of mental plea.He was really a drug addict, pretty strung out & desperate for money.Saw an interveiw with him a few yrs. back.Makes a good story though.The house still stands.

yes. but its watched very closely with heavy security , especially in october. there is a normal family living there. They have completely changed the house, tho its still in the same place on the same street, the windows are different the whole house looks completely different.

The  "Amityville Horror"  was proven to be a hoax...

but the house is a reality and still stands...

The people that previously owned the house made an untold amount off the book deal and film rights... and everyone that was involved with the whole story and keeping the  " facade"  going made just as much

The publishers made MILLIONS as well as the movie ...

The people who now reside in the house have tried repeatedly to keep the tourists off the property to no avail...

there are no ghosts that reside in their home

One interesting note is that the view of the house that was made infamous by the movie posters is not the front of the house -- but actually the side view...

it is yep, on ocean drive, they took the windows out have made it different
