  1. According to my previous studies, the ankle is proximal to the foot as it is closer to the body than the foot.
    The knee is also proximal to the foot.
    This would make the foot distal to the ankle as it is further from the body than the ankle.
    Proximal = closer to body or torso
    Distal = further from body or torso

    If I am wrong here I would be happy to be corrected.
