  1. The appeal is the image that skateboarding has gotten.  People want to look cool and have fun at the same time, beaches=surfers that are terrible, streets= skateboarding=posers, people just want to look cool and fit in and besides the fact you get a rush from the air you get and other things.  The adreneline will just make you feal like your the king of the world.

  2. nope its riding that concrete wave

  3. the appeal iz show you are tough because your jewels get hit

  4. Interesting, I thought this was the surfing section?

  5. Only if you like watching that stuff... that's the MTV Jackass/ CKY generation.

Skating is about pushing the limits of what you and the board can do on a rail, a half-pipe, a pool, or even just on flat ground.  From re-creating a ride on a wave, to kickflipping into a darkslide, to a varial indy-grab 10 feet above the coping, all of these things are part of skating.

Sure, it's fun to watch someone bail and hurt themselves on tv, but in person, you wanna see something that requires talent.

If you watch people like Daewon Song, Rodney Mullen, Jamie Thomas, Bob Burnquist, Mike Vallely, Jay Adams, Andrew Reynolds and of course Tony Hawk... these guys all have different styles.
