  1. The Arch is still here.

On some of the answers, was mentioned the low and high tide, it's a very common mistake.

In order to don't see it, it has to be a 8 m high tide (24 ft), this won't happen here.

Some times you are able to walk trough the Arch, but not because the low tide (we have two low tides a day), it's because the currents bring sand to shore, the opposite happens when a storm take away the beach.

The sand on a beach always move because of the currents in a zig zag movement.

Back to the question, the Arch was formed by erosion of the waves for thousand years, eventually will be destroyed, but probably my grand kids still will see it.

Geologist have found some cracks, but if they get serious, we still can fix it, it's our icon after all.

    Enjoy Cabo

  2. It is not gone. My friends just came back yesterday from Cabo and they took a boat out to the arch.  You were probably visiting during a high tide when  most of the arch in covered by sea water. This is a natural stone arch which has survived many natural occurences. It most definately has not been destroyed by a hurricane. Moreover, a hurricane has not hit Cabo lately.

  3. It's so not gone! I drive the corridor everyday and there's  a point in the highway where you can see it. It's still there, and I don't think a hurricane can destroy it, it would have to be category 10 or something and thankfully we only had a category 1 hurricane on September 4th, but really did nothing but keep people from going to work jaja.

  4. no, its not gone!  You just happened to go at the wrong time of year, as well as probably during high tide.  Eventually it will fall into the ocean, but right now it is still in tact.

  5. The Arch is still there. El Arco also known as the Arch of Poseideon is the most recognizable simble of Cabo san Lucas. It is seen on several postcards depicting Cabo San Lucas. The arch marks the entrance to a submarine canyon perfect for scuba diving. El Arco lies at the tip of the Baja Peninsula. During low tides one can walk through the arch to Playa de Amor, just make sure you get back before the tide comes back up. Many claim that El Arco looks like a Triceratops taking a drink of water.
