  1. If she goes the enlisted route, the Army has a program where she could train to be a medic (I believe the MOS is 68W), then go through additional training to be the equivalent of a Licensed Practical Nurse (68WM6). She could use her education benefits to go to RN school, after which she could go "Green to Gold" and become an officer.

Or she could do as I did and just go to nursing school now, get her degree and then join the Army. She would enter as a 2nd leutenant, and the Army has different incentive programs/bonuses for RNs entering the Army. She would need to talk with a Health Professions Recruiter for the specifics.

Once you both get married, the Army tries to assign you both to the same location. I've met plenty of "dual service" couples who have managed this way, though they do go through brief periods of separation where, for example, you get your orders for reassignment at an earlier date then she got hers.

When I was deployed, there were some married folks who deployed together. Seemed like a pretty good deal for them, though they had to have good family care plans in place so that their kids back home could be taken care of. Please don't count on the military to not deploy both of you at the same time...it just doesn't work that way.
