Is the avg 399.00 price for the PS3 worth it?

Thinking of buying 1 but not willing to fork over 399.00 for it at this time...

Just wait till Christmas, look for some deals.  You see it for $300 grab it cause its going to be the gift come xmas.  The blu-ray alone is going to make it worth it. And then you can play Grand theft Auto, Metal Gear, Final fantasy and Grand Turismo.  That alone is worth the price tag.  If you got a HDtv its a must.

Considering that Blu-Ray players by themselves are around the same price, then yes, they are worth it.  You get a whole lot more with the PS3 then if you just buy a Blu-Ray player by itself.  If you play games, it is worth it.  

If your not willing to pay $400 for it, then it isn't worth it.  Considering what it does, AND it plays Blu-Ray and up-converts my existing DVD's to 1080p, it was worth it to me, especially considering I payed $500 for mine.

Depends on what you are looking for. I use my PS3 to play PS3 and PS2 games, Blu-Ray and DVD movies and also to surf the internet. So for me it is well worth it and thats coming from someone  who paid $599 when it first came out. It is worth every penny.

Well, if you're not going to upgrade the hard drive, wait until next month when they release a model with an 80gb hard drive for $399.99.

I think they're worth it. You have a blu-ray player and a gaming console. It can even double over as a computer if you install Linux on it as an OS.

its reduced to $350 and its definitely worth it like if you buy a blue-ray system its like for $500 and the ps3 already has blue-ray plus it has awesome games,online play is free,can put on photos ans music plus it has blue-ray movies

Its definitley worth the money. It will not fail on you. Its such a reliable system that you will have no problem with it at all. Very very good investment.
