I think it's probably closer to 12 or 13. But, I've known girls who have started at 10 and I also know girls who started at 17. It's all genetics.

In my opinion it isn't what age your mom got it at. My mom was 13 when she got it, my oldest sister was 14, my second oldest sister was 12, and my third oldest sister was 12. I was 11.. yup I was the youngest in my family to start. Anyways girls can range from 9-16 with their periods but the average I would say is 12-13 so I guess I started pretty early and if you started at 10, then you definitaly started early.

Now-a-days yes.. Usually people hope they mature abit more, but girls as young as 8 have started their periods, so 10 is young, but it's not unheard of.
