Is the baseball foul or fair?

If a baseball player is standing in foul territory and a fly ball hits their glove then lands in fair territory is the ball foul or fair??

  1. if he is standing in foul territory and the ball comes down and hits his gloves and when the ball hits the ground and its in fair territory its a fair ball!


  2. Yes it would be a foul ball, but if the player makes the attempt to field the ball, then it could be considered a error.

    Where the fielder is is irrelevant. Where the ball ends up after touching his glove is irrelevant. The only thing that is relevant is where was the ball when it touched the glove.
