  1. i think real science is facts .  some in the two communities (people call religion and science )may make speculations or simply not understand. example religion is actually helping widows, fatherless,...,..., and a scientific fact requires proof or it's not a fact.

  2. It's not to prove things (proofs can only be given in mathematics and logic equations).

It's to find new knowledge, and give explanations for natural phenomenons in a rational and logical manner that other people can do as well.

Edit: Dang it, Bruce, you beat me again! :)

2nd Edit: Why is this in Astronomy & Space, and not in Other Science?  Also, Bruce, I'd rather have them ask science enthusiasts and get a meaningful answer than ask people who know nothing and will only give an answer "more comfortable to christians."

  3. It's not actually possible to prove anything whatsoever, outside of mathematics.  Science is a method for finding truths about the world.  The best scientific ideas are "theories"---interconnected explanations for observations and experimental outcomes.

  4. the bible was written before the modern concept of science was founded, no relation

  5. "Ask and you shall receive"-------- is another Bible quote I believe.

All "proofs" in Astronomy & Space are subject to reinterpretation and change-- as we learn more about the universe.

  6. No.

The basis of science is to ASK all things, and prove what you can.  Good and bad has nothing to do with it.  Stop bringing religion to the science section...it has no place here!

  7. The bible says a lot of things. Also "Dash your enemies children on the rocks".

I guess there might be an occasion when that's a "good" thing to do but I can't imagine it.
