Is the bass pedal on rock band wii's drums stronger?

Question

I recently got rock band wii and I am trying to be super gentle with the pedal. Although that makes it hard to play anything beyond medium. Also, what about the pedal breaks? does the spring wear out or does the plastic break? I'm afraid it is the spring and I keep taking my foot off of the pedal after each note (unlike what the tutorial specifies) and my foot is getting really sore.

just a few minutes ago i was playing and broke the kick pedal. the plastic just completely ripped in half. so im really poed about it. ive been looking online 2 see if they sell them but havent found anything yet so if u know where i can find one id appreciate it. thanks
