Is the bassoon cool?

Yes, the bassoon is 'cool'. I recently switched from clarinet, and I honestly like it a lot better. The tone and pitch qualities and range are great, and if you do play bassoon, you will most likely get a section feature, since there are usually 2 or 3 bassoons in a concert band.

If you are thinking about playing or switching, you should definately do so. =)
