Is the bench press over rated for strength. ?

I know it is important to have a big chest but shouldn't we judge strenght on other things.

  1. yes although it is important to have a strong wide chest,  to classifly anyone as having high strength they need to have high maxes on full body from neck downs to bench press, to biceps, triceps, and so on on all the way to the calfs.
