Is the blackberry pearl confusing to use?

hey! i need to get a new phone. i went to verizon today & looked at the blackberry pearl! it has a little rolling ball in the middle to move around- does that break easily? my mom thought it would!

i'm 15 by the way & i'm pretty good with technology and keyboards.

is the keyboard confusing to learn?

oh& is it to hard to get around& can you delete applications&add ones! the one i saw had WAYYY to many applications [like settings,tools, ect.] so it kinda was confusing, but i only used it for about 4 minutes! lol

I had a Blackberry Curve, and the trackball is fun at first, but it really doesn't last very long. It gets sticky and eventually doesn't even work when you press it. The keys also get sticky and get hard to push down. Also, my brother's girlfriend had a Pearl, and I played with it a bit, but the keyboard did appear pretty confusing, because it's not like a regular phone pad; you can't press the key twice to get the the second letter shown on the button. I d'know, I wouldn't get it. But, you can clear the 'desktop' of the applications you don't use regularly.
