  1. Yes, if you look back at the time there was alot of communism going on. And the governmental state was not as well as it could of been. The whole point of the book was to create fear, fear so that people could understand the importance of not giving up their rights to the government. Say no befor it's too late


  2. actually i thought it was communism/socialism. other books by george orwell are about stuff like that, for example, animal farm.

  3. It's based on a book written by Zamyatin called We, written far before 1984. I believe they call that plagiarism.  

  4. No. It's a British Novel.

    Orwell wrote in response as a ploy against Communism (USSR), as he also did in Animal Farm. It is a social criticism used to forewarn the public as to what will happen if you do not object to power in the minority.
