Is the book "A child called it" based on a true story?

Yes, it is. It's by author David Pelzer, who was abused by his mother during his younger years. There are two sequels; The Lost Boy, which is based on his teen years, and A Man Named Dave, which revolves around his adult years.

yes it is, there is a second one after that one. it is about him getting adopted, into a family, its called "the lost boy"
