Is the book "lush" by Natasha Friend considered a novel?

i have to read a novel for school and have a presentation about it. this book seems perfect to me.. but is it considered a novel?

its about:

a girl struggling to cope with an alcoholic father. Her father hits her young brother with a bottle when he is in an alcohol-fueled rage. Also, Sam shares some serious kisses with a high school boy; he pressures her to have s*x one night while she's drunk at a party -- until he realizes she's only 13. That same night, she is molested by a group of boys in her grade; when she returns to school, she's called names and her locker is vandalized.

yeah, that's a novel..... and it's a mature enough topic that your teacher will be happy with it.

I just looked it up on amazon and it's 192 pages. That can either be a novella or a novel. It depends on the word count/how big the font is. I would talk to your teacher about it and ask him/her if the novel would be acceptable. Don't be worried, teachers will love it that you want to get a good grade on it! Good luck!
