    A bump is called a forearm pass. A pass using a technique like setting is called an overhand pass.

    It's a common mistake and I've heard plenty of people make similar ones.

  3. I've never heard the term "backhand pass" in Volleyball, and judging by the lack of responses, I'd say most other people haven't heard of it either.

    It sounds more like a term used in in racket sports (e.g. tennis, squash, badminton).
