  1. Yea, I remember Paul G.  In fact, I think he frequents the Burton Message Boards now.  I've never had the luxury (so far) nor do I really care for ever riding a Vapor or Platinum.  I would trash it way too fast.

Anyways, I'm paraphrasing here, and it makes sense.  That you'll be able to tell the difference if you're an experienced rider.  According to his profile (if it is his) on the BMB's, he worked for Atlantis at one point, and his own shop.  And I do recall him riding for a really long time.  Being somebody as experienced as him, he said that the difference between a T6 and a Clash are obvious to him, especially in racing.

As for the board itself, if you were to buy it, I wouldn't recommend it for jibbing.  Unless you're made of money, the abuse it'll go through will probably pain you.  Go for it on jumps though.

But yea, if you want a good Burton board, the Custom and the Custom X are freeride legends.

  2. No.

The differences between a $700 and $1000 board are so minute that unless you're a really advanced rider you won't notice them.

If I was going to spend a lot of money on a board I'd try a Lib Tech.  Burton were some of the pioneers of snowboarding but they don't seem to be doing that much inventing - ICS/EST aside - these days.  Lib Tech has just busted out "magnetraction" and it's a fantastic technology.

  3. It's a nice board don't get us wrong, but is it really worth it, probably not. I love my Custom X, and I've rode my friend's Vapor before, and don't like it as much.

  4. I would say not but its hard to say unless you have ridden one and ride at a level high enough to get the best out of the board. I asked a similar question to what you have just asked about a year ago but it was regarding the Palmer Platinum Le, which is more expensive than the Vapor and is the most expensive board ive ever seen. There was a guy called Paul G who was at one point the top answerer in this section and he really knew his stuff and had been riding for 20 years +, he had ridden a Platinum Le and thought that it was worth the money. So in answer to your question if you are a really advanced rider and possibly a contest rider that might compete for money etc, it may be worth what you spend. But if you are below advanced level it wont be worth your money. Good luck with the riding.

  5. nope

  6. no like guy at top burton blunt good but not worth price good board but no to get a good board for cheap get a morrow are a ride are sims have ridden an all of those great make of boards but ur money use it when u need it jg wentworth lol

  7. The Vapor is awesome, don't doubt that. It is light as a feather, and you can tell a difference IF you ride fast over a lot of park hits. If you're cruising groomers, you aren't going to even notice a difference. Also remember that the weight of your boots and bindings matter as much as the weight of the deck. So if you buy a Vapor but are using bulky, heavy bindings, (anything other than titanium,) and boots that weigh more than a few pounds, the Vapor is useless. Basically, you are looking at investing about 17-1,800 dollars, not just 1000, because you'll need those additional upgrades. I ride a Burton custom, and its the best deck I've ever owned. The difference between the Custom and the Vapor are minimal, just a pound or two. If you really want to step it up in the park, the Custom X is an unbelieveable board too, for about 600 bucks. Have fun!

  8. probably not

i just got a burton blunt and i couldn't be happier, but it was much cheaper than the vapor

dont get a board just for the name..shop around a bit and find one that fits you

  9. The Vapor is NOT worth 1000 bucks. Its a great deck, almost the lightest board ever made, but is it worth 1000?  Heck no its not, get a custom, prettty much the same deck just a little heavier/
