At today's prices, a good bike can cost £1500 quid and much more, it will therefore be seen as a luxury, desirable way of life, but for most, a dying practice, unless the law demands secure places are made available at every work location, or car park,hotel and boarding house or future architect designed homes,  and washing facilities....or at least a % equal to the car....

Unless we make we it so, it will disappear....

Yes it is in my opinion.This vehicle of transportation, is in-expensive to run, easy to manoeuvre, and cheap to purchase .It will last for many years and tot up numerous miles with out much depreciation. But best of all :- It is great fun to use.
