  1. Actually, not why I visited, but, yes.  Baggage has to be weighed and placed on an airliner due to fuel, wind, and a few other pitostatic considerations.

    An imbalanced load of stuff in a car at sea level is a pain for the driver.  An imbalanced load of stuff at 10,000 feet... Probably will get ya killed.

    And it does.  All weight is compensated for and center of gravitied for everyone's safety.  If weight is not taken into account... RUN.  As far and fast as possible.  Much safer.


  2. Yes, all airlines weigh check-in baggage. When you check in you place your bags on a scale which is located in the opening next to the check-in desk, it's not just a conveyer belt, but also a scale.
