  1. Yes... The HF10 is a flash memory based camcorder that encodes high definition video into a relatively new AVCHD format. Only the most current version of FCP2 (and FCE and iMovie07 that shipped with iLife08) can deal with this format. Older versions cannot deal with AVCHD encoded video for editing.

    This is similar to the Windows environment where only the most current versions of Pinnacle and Vegas and Adobe editors can deal with AVCHD formatted video - and they have a bigger issue in that not all editors stating AVCHD compatibility can use AVCHD video from all cameras that use this encoding method...
