Is the cell membrane in the simple columnar epithelium difficult to find?

  1. The cell membrane, being the wall separating the outside and inside of the cell should not be difficult to locate; after all, its in the same place on every cell... the edge. Getting a sample of a columnar epithelial cell could prove to be a bit challenging. These are the mucous secreting, absorptive cells lining the small intestine. The difficulty of what you want to see is all dependent on what your using to view the cell, you wont get to see too much with a light microscope, but with the right equipment you may get to see integral membrane proteins.
