  1. I recycle plastic Easter grass, eggs, and baskets, as well.  I reuse it year after year.  I cannot rationalize throwing this stuff away and buying new every year.  Ditto Christmas decorations and other holiday stuff.

  2. you could always recycyle it into an Easter wreath if your crafty....google "easter grass wreath" and it should bring up instructions on how to do so.

  3. Recycling plastic is at the bottom of the list of priorities for most manufacturers, the demand for recycled glass and aluminum is much greater.

As for easter grass, it depends on what it is made of.  If made from corn cellulose or biodegradable cellophane, it is biodegradeable (no need to recycle it.)

Thermoset plastics are less recyclable than thermoplastics, which can be re-melted.  This all assumes you find someone who is willing to recycle it.  For a list of thermoplastics, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermoplast...

A thermoset plastic is generally a harder plastic that cannot be re-melted.  One example is polystyrene (clear rigid plastic cups).  Expanded polystyrene (styofoam) is the puffed version of polystyrene and also cannot be re-melted.  The best recyclers can do with this is to shred it and make beanbag furniture or insulation material.  Most manufacturers find it cheaper to make it from scratch unfortunately.

Plastic easter grass is most likely made from the more recyclable thermoplastic..but again, this assumes you find someone who is willing to recycle it.
