I'm travelling from Paris and am considering Ryanair b/c it's pretty cheap after taxes and all. But, Ryanair flies out of Beauvais airport and lands in Girona outside of Barcelona. If i start out in central Paris, how long will it reasonably take for me to get to downtown Barcelona? Including the time to travel to the airports by train, checking in, etc.

  1. Don't know about Paris but Girona is a good hour's drive from Barcelona. Ryanair are terrible like that. I once got a flight to "Amsterdam" which landed me in Belgium!

  2. Check out other websites first.  Go to easyjet.com and check that out also.  I'm not sure how far eurorail is between Paris and Barcelona but it'll probably cost just as much, if not more.

  3. A recent documentary aired in the UK exposed the severe lack of safety on Ryanair flights - often flights would leave with missing lifejackets and other safety equipment. If you want to take to risk, then its up to you.

  4. Ryanair tends to fly out of airports that are outside of the city.  The Paris airport and Barcelona airport are both about an hour outside of the city.  When making your decision you have to take into consideration the extra money you will be spending for the transportation to these airports.  I personally have flown Ryanair and did not particularly enjoy it, but if you're on a really tight budget then its a good choice.  There are other airlines that offer cheap airfare, I would recommend looking up prices on easyjet, orbitz, vueling, or edreams.es (I found some good deals).  Also if you have the time you may be able to find some good prices on a train.
