  1. Philly's Chinatown is much, much smaller. But there are fun shops and great restaurants. You could see all of Chinatown, including stopping and eating in 2-3 hours. Whereas you could spend a couple days exploring NYC's Chinatown.

  2. I prefer Philadelphia's Chinatown. It's MUCH smaller, but it's easier to find everything you need. Also, there is more variety. In New York, every store has the same exact thing, it gets very annoying very quickly. In Philadelphia, you have more of a chance of finding unique and beautiful items.

  3. No.  Why do you want to buy knockoff bags that support terror organisations anyway?

  4. With numerous gift and specialty shops as well as over 15 oriental grocery stores, Philadelphia's Chinatown is an excellent and very affordable place to shop whether it be for oriental gifts, cookware, Chinese porcelain and china, herbal remedies, or those special ingredients needed to make your own oriental dishes at home. www.PhillyChinaTown.com maintains a partial index of the various shops located within Philadelphia's Chinatown.

Note: New York's selection is probably more extensive.

  5. There are lots of places to go and things to do around Philly.  Right near Chinatown, there is a humongous mall that would accomplish what you're looking for, but I can't remember it's name.  Check or ask at thisweekinphilly.

  6. In that aspect, the two are very similar. However, the Chinatown in Philadelphia is much smaller, so your selection is much more limited. There are several bazaar type stores that have good selections of clothes and bags, so you may be able to find what you're looking for.
