Is the city responsible?

If someone lives in city limits having to park vehicles on the street, is the city responsible for any accidents that happen to homeowners vehicle? Especially if it is reoccurring?

  2. No. Whoever damages your vehicle is responsible, not the city (unless it's a city vehicle).

  5. Yeah, right, like any city anywhere is going to give free insurance coverage to all the vehicles parked on the streets!  Hey, maybe the city could just buy everybody a car to start with, too!  How about the city buy the gas too, since the cars have to be driven on city streets?
