  1. Difficult as it may seem, feminism's original concept wasn't just equality for women, but equality for all races and creeds, the physically challenged, the elderly, the protection of children, and yes, even men's rights, although it might not seem that way.  I wouldn't call it "anti-sexism," but equalism fits.  Doesn't seem to matter what you call it - somebody's not going to like it.

John F. Kennedy once said, "a rising tide lifts all boats."  I think of feminism as that rising tide.

  2. I think that title would suggest a more Honorable intention.. and cuase less confusion

  3. Feminism is sexism, Pro-women sexism.

    Equalism is anti-sexism.

  4. "feminism's original concept wasn't just equality for women, but equality for all races and creeds, the physically challenged, the elderly, the protection of children, and yes, even men's rights, "

Next thing you will be telling us is that feminism will cure cancer..

Maybe you would like to tell me exactly where and when feminism have helped men or boys for that matter. I have not seen any examples yet.

All I have witnessed is the ongoing male-bashing on feminist's sites.

"the protection of children", surely you mean disposing of children ?

Does not feminism promote abortion regardless of the age of the fetus, that's hardly protecting life is it !

  5. Agreed, they should change the name of the movement.  I would go for "equalist movement" over "anti-sexism movement" because it just rolls off the toungue a little better.  It would have the effect of reframing the argument from being a movement whose only goal is to forward women's rights to one where the idea is to make sure everyone has equal opportunity in society.  This would be effective in eliminating biases against both genders and would unburden the movement of alot of the ill will the term "feminism" has built up.

  6. anti sexism is a good word...

  7. Anti-sexism is basically the same thing. Although with anti-sexism I suppose you could get away with being a pro-life feminist.
