  1. Occaisionally.  We tend to talk about music, books, some of the top news stories and recent TV programmes.

I think it depends on what kind of job you do and also the male / female split in the team.  We have a 50/50 split so the conversation is quite varied.

  2. usually no.. office gossip and chit chaat

  3. Uni canteen conversations can be quite interesting at times; when working uni jobs, chat is often intellectually simulating.

    At other times, right boring.

  4. [School]

Usually we talk about random things but sometimes a intellectually simulating conversation strikes! ..  :D

  5. I run my own two businesses.  The most stimulation I get is here at YA!

  6. It can be. My co-worker and I talk about our home lives a lot, so that is always fun.

  7. The friday afternoon conversations could be and often the boss started them (his successor tried to formalise it and have it work orientated  ) They covered many subjects including but not wholly work and systems minor irritations etc with suggestions often coming out of the blue some of which were adopted. Once these conversations became formal and structured everyone just wanted to go home. The stimulous had gone

  8. not in my workplace...i work with all men and all they talk about is girls and giggle about rude jokes. i find it very boring and uncomfortable because i dont feel part of the conversation.

  9. Hardly!  It usually revolves around football or Dancing with the Stars.  I don't watch a lot of TV, and I dislike professional sports, so I don't participate much.

  10. Out of the jobs I have had, most of the staffroom conversation has been about trivialities like the latest soaps, night out etc. Sometimes work related stuff. All pretty boring, really.

However, it did all depend on who was on their break at the time. I usually tried to time it so I would miss the nonsense chat (unless I felt like that sort of conversation!). I would sometimes strike it lucky and have a reasonabley intelligent conversation, depending on who was on that day and on their break. Or I would take my break myself - that was often heaven!
