  1. one is a switch the other a  calibrated resistor.


  2. You have three different sensor's  that play apart in the coolant department. One of them is for the gauge inside of the car so you know how hot the engine is, another one of them controls the fan so when the water temp reaches the set temp it alouds the fan to come on to cool down the coolant that's in the radaitor.Finally the last one is so it will kick on when you turn the a/c unit on.   4. No. The Temp Sender is for the gauge or light on your dash. Usually one wire, and lower on your engine. The Coolant Sensor is to your computer to help the engine run right. Usually two wire connection, and near the Thermostat. Low coolant sensors are a thermistor design, and usually mounted to the Radiator if you have one.
