Is the corporate media establishment afraid of Yahoo?

It is amazing the amount of venom and nonsense, directed against Yahoo, and propagated by the corporate media, starting with CNBC and the New York Times. Every day, they say how foolish Yahoo management is or something in that vein, for rejecting Microsoft. They are the same people who defended Microsoft at the time the US courts were finding the Windows maker, guilty of conspiring to use their Windows monopoly to extend their monopoly to other commercial areas.

Yahoo is not making as much money as wall street thinks it should, but it is a great corporation with a great future. And, it has never been found guilty of abusing others like MS has.

I think the corporate media is afraid of the competition Yahoo presents. I watch a lot of news videos at Yahoo and I often find more useful financial information at Yahoo Finance than listening to CNBC

  1. Yes, I have noticed that too. Cnbc has had  a bias against Yahoo for years. Yahoo is a media company and competes against Cnbc and others. In the Finance section one finds tons of info that CNBC does not provide. Now that Yahoo is providing real time quotes I like it even more than before.

Cnbc is opinionated while Yahoo just let you have the info.

Yes, I think they would like to do away with the competition.

  2. Yes I agree.
