  1. no, increasing price of oil is causing inflation b/c every good sold is transported by truck at some point, or requires energy to produce and deliver.


  2. When the dollar's value goes down, the price of everything goes up. Gas is probably going up partially because of that, but foreign affairs also have a large effect.

    OPEC does not control all the oil.

    the price you hear in the market is the spot crude market, which has nothing to do with the price the oil companies pay. their price is much lower.
