Andros island is about 20 miles west of Nassau. Everything is imported from Nassau by boat. That costs money.

Andros is sparsely populated (10,000 people) on 2,300 square miles. It's the bone fishing capital of the world. There are about 5 resorts and hotels on the islands of Andros.

I did do a search of properties and very few listings came up. One house 350,000 and a hotel for for 5 million dollars.

To make a living on this island you would have to be very knowledgable in Fishing, farming, hotel management or marine biologists. It does have the third largest coral reef in the world.
