  1. Yup...hope so because I'm still Romanian :]

Look up a map on Google, it will still be there.

  2. Yes, it is still called Romania.  There have been some permutations in spelling, (Ex. Rumania).  I even have a very old Romanian dictionary that refers to Romania as "Romînia" with an accent over the first "i" which was a reference to the post WWII "simplification" of the Romanian alphabet that tried to get rid of excess accented letters and create a more standardized spelling and grammar pattern.  Republica Populară Romînă was the first name under communism for Romania and translates to the People's Republic of Romania, then it was called "Republica Socialista Romania" which is the Socialist Republic of Romania.  You may be thinking of the country to Romania's east, which was formerly part of the USSR.  The neighboring country of Moldova was formerly called the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic or Republica Sovietică Socialistă Moldovenească and is now called the Republic of Moldova.

  3. Yes, of course.  The official title of the country is "Romania"

  4. Yes of course
