  1. Ugh. I hate that cage.

1.My sister had her two gerbils in that cage and they kept getting out! The hole in the cage that allows you to connect tubes to it had a piece of weak plastic over it and they were constantly getting out!

    2. They ripped off the slide and started chewing on it like mad so I am not sure how stable the cage is.

    3. Like most rodents, hamsters/gerbils are nocturnal so they would get in the wheel and run all night long, it would wake me up because it was so squeaky.

    4. This cage is a pain-in-the-butt to clean. The gerbils would p**p in the wheel and the little tube thing and it was hard to take apart and clean.

  2. Honestly, those seem kind of small to me for 2 dwarves.  Dwarves can get nippy and fight when they're in too-small of areas.   Maybe try something more like this:

You don't have to have dwarves live in pairs, but they can do well with a littermate.  It just depends on the individual hamster.  Sometimes they can fight after awhile, and need to be separated.

  3. yes, that cage is very acceptable for two dwarfs. and dwarfs like to live with buddy's, mostly with siblings. same s*x pairs from different litters may fight. but brothers of the same age rarely do.

but no its not mandatory to have two living together but it makes them happier. i asked for two females at my local pet store, the idiots gave me a male and female, when they had babies twenty days after i got them, i had to separate them. the mom has her little babies to keep her company but the male is alone and always wants out of the cage, he runs to the cage door when im around.

  4. a word of advice,

my friend had that cage, and the hamster collected all its food, and took it in the big ball and woldnt move, everyy time it went running in its ball, the food all clattered about, it was a nightmare, they boght it because it looked a really cool cage, but its too fiddly, and they will just go in the ball so if you want to get them out, you will have to attach the whole ball though.

you hamsters might not do that though, but its generally not a very good cage, not particualrly big either, especially when you are getting two.

i would get a bigger more spacious cage,

    good luck!
