Is the de-wormer working?

Hi i just gave my puppy some dewormer for hookworms. She just pooped and a lot of worms came out is that good or bad? And how long will it take to get rid of all the worms? She is using liquid "D-Worm"

Yes it is working. That is what the medicine does. If the p**p is liquidy that is okay and it's okay if you see worms. That is how the dog will get rid of the worms with the medicine. Make sure you follow the dosage requirements 100%. Do not give him more or less than prescribed. I had to give that to my dog as a puppy and it took about two weeks for it to fully get rid of them. Make sure you don't get your dog's poo on your shoe if you track it in the house you can only give it back to the dog or yourself. I would make sure to pick  up the p**p when he goes outside that way you don't risk other dogs picking up the hook worms by sniffing the poo. You can use a grocery bag and put it in the trash can.

After the medicine is gone or for how long it says to use it for go back to the veterinarian have a fecal test done again to see if the problem is gone. Your dog's eating habits may decrease while on the medicine. That is normal as it may upset his tummy. Don't worry. Just make sure to go back and get a check up on the problem after your done with the medicine.

very typical - gross! But typical. That means the medicine is doing it's job at least! The vet always warns us about that. We always had to do a follow-up treatment a couple weeks later...but a call to your vet tomorrow can clear that up.

Take your pup to a vet that over the counter c**p isn't worth the money. The vet will deworm your pup and its pretty cheap too. Plus your pup will need it's puppy shots so it doesn't get parvo or some other awful disease pups get that can kill them
