Is the density of 1.00L greater than, less than, or equal to the density of 1.00 quart of water?

  1. Density is an intrinsic property i.e. it doesn't matter how much of the substance you have, the density is (at a given temperature) a fixed value.


  2. 1.00l of what? water? then its equal. water has a specific density.

  3. The density of water of water is an intrinsic property and is independent of the volume of water on which it is measured.

    Accordingly the density of 1.00L of water is the same as the density of 1.00Q of water provided that (a) It is the same water and (b) the temperature of the measurement is the same.  (actually, the density of water changes very slightly with pressure, but let's leave that out of this!)
