Is the distributed computing same as distributed systems

No, they are two different things which are interlinked.

Distributed Systems :- Like internet ,  LAN , Wi-Fi Network etc.

Mainly used for transfering data &  communicating pourposes.

Distributed Computing :- Instead of runing an algorithm on a single pc with limited computational resources , we can run the same algorithm on a number of pc's to improve it's performance.(Example)

There is no Distributed Computing without Distributed Systems.Nevertheless they are still two different things.
