Is the dog that played wellard in eastenders REALLY dead?

aww it was so sad when they had to put wellard to sleep n eastendres last week... :(

Was the dog really put down, cos when they injected it, it seemed to close its eyes? aww thats so sad!

  1. No she is alive and well.  Even EastEnders wouldn't stoop so low as to really euthanise a dog on the show.

    She is actually named Kyte and is the third dog to play the part - following on from her grandmother and mother.

    Kye is a Belgian Shepherd Dog and a pedigree to boot.


  2. no he isn't. they had to re shoot the whole scene after they had finished it because before it was aired, you could see wellards belly moving up and down as he was breathing when he was meant to be dead!!! lol =)

  7. No they had trouble filming the scene coz you could see him breathing - had to re-do it lots of times x

  10. No its not dead so dont worry, the dog just retired from the show.  There was a big story on the bbc website a few weeks ago about it.

  13. no he isnt dead they train him to go to sleep and lay down on que so he is fine so dont worry wellard has been played bye 9 diffrent dogs over ther years lol
