  1. No. What appears to be happening is that there will be an enforce longer learning period with a minimum number of lesson with a government licenced instructor, intensive driving courses will be banned.

The effect will be learning to drive and the driving test will cost a lot more than it does today.

  2. OMG OMG I hope so it is about time.

  3. The Driving Standards Agency are currently running a public consultation on how to improve driving and safety standards for drivers within the the first year of passing their test. One of the MANY proposals is for the minimum driving age to be raised to 18. If this is approved, it would be at least 2011 before it was introduced and, even then, it is highly unlikely as the current recommendation is against it.

My daughter is 8. I reckon her year is the first year that may seriously need to be concerned about raises in the minimum age.

    Good luck.

  4. No it isnt but people will leave school at 18 from 2013.

  5. It is being considere by the Ministry of transport. About time too.

  6. Not so far, just rumors still.

  7. I'm sick of these questions/rumours - NO.

  8. I have not heard anything. But to be honest I think it is about time the driving age went up to 18.

  9. I have been hearing that for years .It wont  happen other wise you  will end up with more illegal drivers not covered by insurance  Teaching safety all through school may help.  . Its poor attitude  that causes accidents.II asked all my students why did pick this school ? most replied  To get my licence early
